POODLE PORCELAIN PLATE
The motif is inspired by the 2022 sculpture The Poodle’s Core, featuring a large poodle baring its teeth. The surface draws inspiration from Jeff Koons’ perpetually passive balloon animals and Goethe’s Faust, from which the title is derived. In Faust, the core of the poodle symbolizes the devil. Thus, the poodle's cute exterior conceals a satanic inner nature.
Edge is hand painted with 24 carat gold.
ESBEN WEILE KJÆR X BRODIE
For Brodie, multidisciplinary artist Esben Weile Kjær has created a limited selection of objects intersecting souvenirs, artworks and utility items. Inspired by well-known motives and materials from everyday life and his own artistic practice, Weile Kjær has scaled down the motifs instead of his usual practice of magnifying them, further examining the concepts of false and true, high and low.
